![]() It is located at 'Translator++\3rdParty\EnigmaVBUnpacker.exe' or download it directly from its creator's website : You can use The Enigma unpacker to do this job. ![]() But we still need the unpacked version to apply the tranlation though. So, we don't need to unpack these game to work with Translator++. Translator++ has included an Enigma unpacker. The bad news is, it is not easy to extract them. Its single executable file you mentioned above is probably an Enigma Virtual Box. A tool like "RPG Maker Decrypter" is usualy used to extract archive data for RPG Maker games.īut, RPG Maker MV has another story. *.rgss2a for VX, etc) to apply our translation into the games. I would guess that the majority of people trying to steal your assets would fall into the latter category.Yes, we need to unpack the data archive first (it is *.rgss3a for VX Ace. However, it *would* offer protection from any of the people who are hoping to just one-click decrypt your game using the existing decyptors that are available. Unfortunately, this will *not* protect your assets against anyone who is both proficient in programming and who is determined to steal your resources, because the decryption algorithm can be found inside your game's javascript files. Poryg actually released a plugin for this on the RM forums very recently. If you're wanting a free solution, the best thing you could probably do would be to use a custom encryption method, instead of the default RMMV decryption. None of them are completely uncrackable, but they would offer much better protection than Enima VB. If you're wanting alternatives, there are paid software protectors, such as Enigma Protector, Themida, VMProtect, etc. It adds extra overhead, and can potentially slow things down by some margin, but with nothing to really gain for it. ![]() The only people who it really impacts are the people trying to play your game. That being the case, I don't bother with Enigma VB. So anyone who's capable of stealing your assets in the first place will not be deterred by Enigma VB. Anyone who has access to the former also probably has access to the latter. However, there are also easy obtained applications that can unpack Enigma VB files with the click of a button. ![]() It's true that there are easily obtained applications that can undo RMMV encryption with the click of a button. However, I will warn you that using Enigma VB will not protect your assets any better than the RMMV encryption does.
